Travel Agenda: Québec City's winter carnival; Spies in the House of Art; London Fashion Week; Mallorca's La Residencia hotel

Today: The world's largest winter carnival is taking place in Québec City. The annual event has been running since 1894 and continues with night parades, snow sculptures, sleigh rides, husky races and an Arctic Spas Village in the Canadian city until Sunday 12 February(carnaval.qc.ca).

This week: In New York, a new exhibition opens at The Metropolitan Museum on Tuesday. Spies in the House of Art will explore how modern artists are inspired by, but wary of the dominance of museums through photography, film and video until 26 August (metmuseum.org).

In the diary: During London Fashion Week, 100 designers and brands will showcase their autumn and winter collections at Somerset House from 17 to 22 Feb (somersethouse.org.uk). This year's official Fashion Week hotel is the May Fair in Stratton Street. Sunday Girl launches a new DJ residency here on 19 February (themayfairhotel.co.uk). In Mallorca, La Residencia hotel near Deià will open a permanent sculpture garden from 2 March (hotel-laresidencia.com).
